As a church, we believe -
Ministry & Leadership -
Every member is a minister. As baptized believers, we encourage one another to show the love of Christ to everyone we come in contact with. While every member is a minister, as a body of believers, we are elder led and congregational ruled.

Worship -
All worship activities should fulfill the purpose of glorifying God. We offer blended worship services and find doctrinal truth and meaning in traditional hymns as well as contemporary praise and worship.
Fellowship -
As believers we are called to interact with one another. This means we are to be a part of one another's lives. We regularly have meals together, worship together, and fellowship together as we build relationships throughout our communities.
Discipleship -
A follower of Jesus Christ will desire to know, grow, and go. We seek to encourage and equip members to disciple one another, the lost, and themselves. Discipleship brings growth.
Community -
As members of the faith family at Haw River, we seek to work together for the good of the Gospel and the glorification of Jesus Christ. We accomplish this by being missional in everything we do.
Doctrine -
We hold to historic Baptist doctrine, holding the Bible as our rule of faith and practice, not human tradition. A detailed summary of our beliefs can be found by looking at the Baptist Faith and Message. We are a Great Commission Baptist Church.
As a church, we use the gifts God has given us in these ministries -
Teaching Ministry -
As believers we are called to grow in our understanding and deovtion to God's Word. As human beings, we were created for community. At First Baptist we want to blend our need for community with our study of the Bible. One way we do that is through small groups and Sunday School. Life is about community and the best way to get connected and grow in your walk with Christ is to take part in a small group of believers, who study, fellowship, and are accountable to one another. We have small groups for all stages and ages. Many of our groups meet on Sunday mornings, but we also offer some that meet throughout
the week as well.
Student Ministries -
Student ministry isn't something we do to occupy our students while their families worship. Student ministry is what we are. The student ministry at First Baptist exists to make disciples just as the great commission commands. Making disciples means having relationships. Whether it's going on a fellowship outing, participating in a midweek Bible study, hanging out a game, or spending a week together at camp; the goal of all we do is to make disciples. We seek to make disciples by providing foundational biblical teaching, spiritual and fellowship outings, and providing worship opportunities for every student. By doing this we make sure every student is known, loved, ministered to, and understands just how much they are worth. We strive to do all of this in the safest environment possible for the safety of our students and our leaders. During our Sunday morning services we offer age graded teaching for children up to 2nd grade. During our Midweek service we offer a Children in Action study time which focuses on missions. Know that your students will be safe, loved, and taught biblical truth while we have them.
Missions & Outreach Ministries -
Before Christ ascended to Heaven, He gave the command to "Go and Make Disciples." This is discipleship; this is missions; this is the task of every believer. We weekly have a time of prayer for our missionaries who are currently serving and we participate in missions projects as a church and as individuals. As a church, we have a Food Pantry, which provides food for those who are in need in our community. Appointments are made those in need are able to come and shop for what they need. We are always in need of people to help people shop, organize donated food, and restock shelves. We also sponsor a free monthly community meal on the 4th Saturday of every month except December. During this time, we come together to feed and fellowship with the community around us. It is a special time to serve food, greet, minister to, and encourage our neighbors.

We also partner with other like minded ministries and organizations such as Love Life, The Gideons International, the North American Mission Board, the International Mission Board, and Samaritan's Purse.
